Spiritual/healing properties:

Celestite is associated with peace, higher consciousness, and spiritual communication, often used for meditation and dreamwork.

Formation:

Celestite forms in sedimentary rock cavities when mineral-rich water evaporates, leaving behind strontium sulfate deposits that slowly crystallize over time. Unlike quartz-based crystals, which are relatively hard, celestite is fragile and brittle, making it difficult to shape without breakage.  Celestite, also known as celestine, is composed of strontium sulfate (SrSO₄), which gives it its delicate blue color.

Cutting & Processing:

To create celestite eggs, large raw specimens are carefully cut into oval-like forms using diamond saws, as softer cutting tools could cause fractures. Once shaped, the pieces undergo gentle polishing to refine their surface while preserving their natural crystalline beauty. Due to its delicate nature, celestite is handled with care and is often displayed rather than carried.
