Spiritual/Healing Properties:

Enhances intuition, psychic abilities, and spiritual awareness.  Provides protection, shielding the aura from negative energies.  Encourages self-discovery, inner strength, and clarity.  Often used in meditation to connect with higher consciousness.

Formation:

Labradorite is a feldspar mineral (plagioclase group).  Forms in igneous rocks (like basalt and gabbro) and sometimes in metamorphic rocks.  Develops when magma cools slowly, allowing the characteristic interference layers that produce its iridescent labradorescence.

Cutting & Processing:

Cut using diamond saws and lapidary tools due to its hardness (Mohs 6–6.5).  Polished to highlight labradorescence — the colorful metallic flashes are revealed when the stone is cut parallel to the layers of feldspar crystals. Often shaped into cabochons, beads, spheres, and decorative items.

Mohs Hardness:  6–6.5
